What Does Your Suspension Do?

While drivers may know more common maintenance schedules like changing their oil, others, like their suspension, may be a bit more of a mystery. That is why our team at Mercedes-Benz of Arlington want to tell you all about what a suspension is and how often it should be replaced.

The main purpose of a suspension is to keep the driver and their passengers from feeling every little bump and pothole in the road. When a suspension is operating properly, you should be in for a smooth ride. Some experts recommend replacing parts of your full suspension system once every 50,000 miles on average. Of course, this number can be higher or lower depending on both your driving style and the type of roads you typically drive on. Those who drive on rough roads or on unpaved paths frequently may need to replace aspects of their suspension more frequently than those who only drive their cars on well paved, smooth surfaces.
