Got a faulty brake pedal? You'll want to get it taken care of right away. Rather than guess, we've provided you with a few ways you can know that your brakes are malfunctioning, so you can handle the situation as soon as possible.

1. Soft and Squishy- Does your brake pedal feel squishy upon braking? If so, you'll want to get your brakes checked. As a rule of thumb, your brakes should feel firm when under pressure, and should feel even firmer when more pressure is added.

2. Pulling to the Right or Left- While a vehicle pulling to the right or left can also be an indicator of needing a tire alignment, if it is happening as you're attempting to stop your vehicle, you may want to get your brakes looked at.

3. Vibration- Does your vehicle rattle and shake upon coming to a stop? This is often a clear indication of warped rotors.

All in all, if you notice any of the above signs, be sure to schedule an appointment with your local mechanic.
