Avoiding hydroplaning in rainy weather is as simple as physics, really. And if you want to avoid accidents, you should learn some techniques on how to avoid hydroplaning. At Mercedes-Benz of Arlington, we are always interested in your best interest, so we would like to share a few tips with you.

First of all, you should turn the cruise control off because you will be able to react more quickly if you do lose contact with the road. Along with that, you should avoid hard braking, which are more likely to have to do if you have the cruise control on.

You should also do everything that you can to stay away from puddles and standing water. This includes avoiding the outer lanes because roads are graded to have water move towards the outer lanes. This means that you should try to stay in the inner lanes, where the surface is more likely to be drier.
